Domain Name Information
The domain name database shows us that this domain name address was registered in 2017. Longer domain registrations are more likely to indicate a reliable and legit business, though.
This site is unusual in the top-level domain they use. Online stores normally choose a .com address, whereas this site is using a .coop domain. The .coop top-level domain is restricted to verified co-operative organizations only, with the system overseen and administered by Midcounties Co-operative.
The contact details for the domain name are registered as Midcounties Cooperative, the same organization which operates as the registrar for the .coop domain. It is common for more dubious online pharmacies to hide their contact details, but this isn’t what we find here.
The business name and address is shown on each page of the site. The name of the business is West Midlands Co-operative Chemists Ltd and this is part of the Midcounties Co-operative, a name we have already seen associated with this site. We’ve checked the address and it is a real warehouse location for the CoopPharmacy.coop.
The Midcounties Co-operative is a large organization which even has its own Wikipedia page. They employ some 9000 people and operate in many different sectors, including food retail, funeral care, travel, energy and pharmacies among others. They operate 30 real-world pharmacies in the UK as part of their business, alongside this online pharmacy.
This business isn’t a normal enterprise with shareholders or owners. The co-operative is owned by its members, paying dividends to them and giving them discounts as well as special offers. The board of directors is elected by the members and the focus of the business is to help the local communities in which it operates along with commitments to social responsibility, openness and equality.
This business is operated in the UK and as such is required to adhere to both UK and European Law. This means they have to be registered with a UK Government agency which oversees online pharmacies. This agency is known as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and we can check their database. It shows us that this online pharmacy is correctly registered with this Government agency.
They also need to display the common distance selling logo on every page of their site where medicine is sold. They do correctly display the logo and so are operating this pharmacy legally.
Additionally, they are regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council as they are a pharmacy as well. This regulation is genuine and they display the correct seals on the site.
Online doctor appointments are available for a small fee through this site. You can book an appointment for a video conference consultation with the UK registered doctor at a cost of £12.50. However, the range of conditions that are able to be treated is limited. Conditions include; skin ailments, allergies, sexual health, headaches, back pain and several others.
The doctor service is run by a separate company called Freedomhealth Limited and is regulated by the Care Quality Commission. The CQC carried out an onsite inspection of the doctor service at the end of 2017 and found that the service offered safe and effective care, in line with the appropriate regulations.
Payment and Shipping
You are required to register on this site before you can order any medication. The registration process includes an ID check where you will need to upload a photo of your passport or driving license. When you have completed this, you are able to buy drugs using credit or debit cards in the same name.
Delivery options are either standard or next day delivery. Standard delivery is free and often arrives next day anyway, so it is only worth using the next day delivery service if you need your pills before 1pm the following day, guaranteed. However, it should be noted that drugs are only shipped to addresses in the UK and the Channel Islands.
A useful method to really judge how good an online pharmacy really is can be by reading what other customers think about the store. Customer testimonials can allow you to see beyond the marketing hype to learn how the business really operates.
When looking for CoopPharmacy.coop reviews there a couple of customer testimonies found on the site itself. Rather unusually, these reviews are video instead of written feedback. Also, they aren’t user-submitted videos, instead they have been professionally filmed, though they do appear to be genuine customers.
It would be nice to find some customer feedback on an independent site like Trustpilot, but we haven’t been able to find any such reviews. There are reviews for their real-world pharmacies featured on the Government NHS website, but these don’t directly relate to the online drugstore.
This online pharmacy seems to offer a well regulated and safe service operated by a large co-operative business. We are awarding them 4-stars out of 5 because customer feedback is very limited and they only ship pills to the UK.
POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVESThere are also quite many online pharmacies on the net that have proved themselves to be excellent ones. We keep an eye on them as well. They get into our reviews from time to time, and you can see them on the pages of our site.
We have placed the best online pharmacies into a separate list on the Pharmacy Ratings page. Ratings of online pharmacies that have successfully passed verification and check by our team: Link>>>
