Domain Name Information

The domain details held on the record show that this website address was registered in 2014. This ties in with what they say about their business starting that same year, so this is good to find.

registered in 2014

What isn’t quite as good to see it that the owner of the pharmacy has chosen to use domain privacy. This means that, for whatever reason, they have decided that they don’t want their contact information in the public record. This lack of transparency is of some concern and could indicate a problem with this drugstore.

Business Contact Details

numbers and addressThings don’t get much better with regards to transparency when we try to find out who runs this pharmacy. They are only using a PO box address on their contact page.

This isn’t a great thing to learn and leaves us not completely sure if the owner of this pharmacy is even in Canada.

Regulatory Approvals

Regulation should help pharmacies provide a safe service to their customers. This pharmacy doesn’t provide any evidence that they are operating with any regulation, however.

They do have a customer agreement and a shipping policy on their site. They also claim that the dispensing pharmacies are correctly regulated.

unapproved

LegitScript certainly see this as a problem, they have reviewed the store and consider them to be unapproved. This means that they may not be operating in accordance with the laws for the countries they sell to.

Medication Available

This store specializes in selling insulin and other diabetic medicine. They say that the insulin is shipped in contains with cold gel packs to keep them cool for delivery.

a pen with some doses

Prices on the store seem to be cheaper than normal prices found in the US. They say that all drugs are shipped from Canadian pharmacies though they don’t provide any information about these dispensing locations. Without any evidence, we are left to just take their word for it that this is true.

This is a problem and when coupled with the lack of information we have found about who is behind the store, shows a pattern that isn’t great to discover. They don’t want to provide any information about who they are or where the drugs are dispensed from.

They do require a genuine prescription before any order you place will be fulfilled. This is good to see and shows that they are following the normal rules for the dispensing of medication in Canada.

Payment and Shipping

The pharmacy site is secure and they accept payment using:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard

Shipping is a flat fee of $35 as long as you live in the continental USA. Other territories and countries can expect higher shipping costs. They say that typically orders take 3 to 5 business days to arrive.

CanadianInsulin.com Reviews

It can be great to find reassuring customer feedback for a business you are thinking of using. There are CanadianInsulin.com reviews on their Facebook page. They have an overall score of 4.7 out of 5 which appears really good.

5 stars

The comments are genuine but on closer inspection, the feedback isn’t quite as good as it first appears. On Facebook, reviewers don’t always provide a rating, so some of the negative feedback doesn’t affect the overall score.

unsatisfied customer

Many customers have been reporting slower delivery times than expected. This seems to indicate an issue with this pharmacy which has been experienced by multiple customers. The pharmacy seems to be overwhelmed with orders that they haven’t been able to cope with to the satisfaction of all customers. This may just be a temporary issue but it isn’t a good advertisement for this store.

Conclusion

On the face of it, this pharmacy would appear to be a reputable store, look a little closer, however, and there are some problems. While they do, for the most part, seem to be a legit drugstore they could do with improving their transparency. We don’t know who operates this business or where the drugs are dispensed from.

It is our finding that a rating of 3 stars out of 5 is appropriate for this pharmacy.

  1. From 2018 to 2021, I was a loyal customer. The situation that Canadian Insulin just put me through is shocking and heartbreaking. I placed an order for my diabetic kitty on Oct. 5th, and their negligent handling of my order, even after I had pleaded with them to overnight it after their mistake, arrived on Nov. 9th. They also shipped it out the same way they shipped out the first order and did not rush it to me. My cat needed to be hospitalized on Nov. 10th and she died on Nov. 15, 2021. They had ignored my calls and emails many times when I was trying to make sure they were processing my order. Karen H. and Jennifer S. apologized that my “recent order was shipped to the incorrect address” and will refund my $176 insulin order because I “did not receive my order to the correct address” and “no longer require this medication.” I told them I DO NOT want a refund on the insulin and showed them my $2,540.79 vet bill to which they refused because “these circumstances are outside of our control.” I repeatedly said no to the insulin refund, and they processed it anyway.

While my first order went to the wrong address on Oct. 26, they did not offer me a refund then. It took my cat dying on Nov. 15 for them to force a refund saying it’s for the shipping issue when in reality it’s because they know they are the reason she died. PLEASE BEWARE!
