PrescriptionPoint.com Reviews – Mixed Feelings

website interface

PrescriptionPoint.com is a professional looking Canadian drug store which claims to save you as much as 90% off your prescription costs. It seems to have the right regulatory approvals, but is it really somewhere you should trust to supply your medication? Our investigations reveal some problems with this online store, however.

Available Drugs

Prescription Point offers a large selection of pills in both brand name and generic varieties. They are very clear about differentiating the brand from the generic drugs, which is not always something you see on this type of pharmacy store.

They do require prescriptions (as the name of the store would suggest) where necessary, requiring you to send this in when ordering or have your doctor fax them a copy.

Approvals from Regulatory Associations

Prescription Point claims to be based in Canada and they do display seals and logos from Canadian associations. In the section on their site titled ‘Shop with Trust’, they have logos from CIPA, PharmacyChecker and IPABC. These accreditations are legit and they are allowed to display these logos.

Membership of these governing bodies should hold the store to a higher standard. In this case, it means that there is a pharmacy which is regulated in Canada which dispenses some of the medication. It is important to note that they also use fulfillment centers around the world to dispense pills. They claim that these centers meet the regulatory standards in the countries they are located.

It isn’t entirely good though. A check with LegitScript.com shows them as having an unapproved status.

Business Information

Every page of this site has the company name and address at the bottom of the page. This is what you would expect from a legit business. Unfortunately, our investigation uncovers that the address is just a mailbox service run by UPS and the business name doesn’t show up in the Canadian Government’s database either. This is the sort of practice you would expect from a scam pharmacy store.

We don’t know the proper details of the person or business behind this store, we can’t even be sure that they are really based in Canada. The dispensing pharmacy address they give on the site is real though. It is a Canadian pharmacy which is linked to many other online stores, however.

Domain Name Information

The domain name has been registered since 2003 which would lead you to believe that this is more likely to be a trustworthy company. However, their use of a privacy protection service to hide the real identity of the owners of the site is a cause for alarm.

Payments and Shipping

Prescription Point accepts certified bank checks and international money orders, as well as credit cards. Their own explanation of their payment options is a bit confused though. They say they currently accept money orders and checks, but don’t mention credit cards until later.

Shipping costs are $9.95 per order for delivery within North America. Additional charges may apply for larger orders. Shipping is via freight and you can expect to receive your pills in 2 – 4 weeks after ordering.

PrescriptionPoint.com Reviews

These pharmacy sites like to display testimonials to increase trust by proving they successfully ship products to customers. On this store’s front page they have a section for PrescriptionPoint.com reviews, there is only one testimonial featured there, however.

a good reviewIt is rather strange that there is only one testimonial, especially given that the site is over 15 years old. Maybe, that’s the only good comment they’ve ever received. If they had more good testimonials, why not publish them?

The single review that they do show appears to be genuine though. There isn’t any evidence of this having been used elsewhere and republished here.

Looking elsewhere for customer reviews about PrescriptionPoint.com leads us to Pharmacy Checker’s site. Here the testimonials are mixed, to say the least. There isn’t any really recent feedback though, with the latest being from 2016. The reviews do seem to be genuine with the average customer rating being just 3-stars out of five.

Conclusion

PrescriptionPoint.com has all the right memberships to Canadian regulatory associations and a long online history. Unfortunately, they have gone to great lengths to hide their real business details and it is impossible to be sure who really operates this store. The customer feedback has been really mixed for this site and our assessment of this site is mixed too, which is why we are giving it 3-stars out of a possible five.
