OffshoreCheapMeds.com use a seal from Pharmacy Checker to prove legitimacy and they are correctly using this seal. This means that they are dispensing drugs from a registered pharmacy in India and adhere to minimum security standards for handling your data and financial information. They do require a prescription to be provided when ordering many of their products.
However, LegitScript.com believes this site to be a rogue pharmacy website. They have reviewed this store and come to the conclusion that it isn’t to be trusted.
Who Runs This Site?
The name and address of the company behind the store are given on every page of the site and is what you would expect from a legit business. There are a couple of issues with this, however. The address given has C/O (care of) written in front of it, meaning it isn’t their real location. This is the sort of thing you would expect from an offshore business, though. This address seems to belong to a company formations organization and has been associated with some dubious business practice in the past.
The business name shown on the site – TVB Group International – isn’t registered in the Isle of Man Government database. It does show up in the UK Government’s Companies House database, but it shows as being dissolved in 2017. It is the same organization as the director’s name has shown up elsewhere.
It would appear that this business actually operates from India as this is where the pharmacy is based, and where the domain name was registered.
The website name was registered in 2012, suggesting that this online pharmacy has been successfully operated for a while.
You would normally expect a scam pharmacy store to hide their name and address using a privacy service. This isn’t the case with OffshoreCheapMeds.com, the name and address (though different to that given on the site) are available in the domain records.
Payment and Shipping
They accept payment by credit card and E-Check for US customers only. You can also choose to use a wire transfer service and receive a 5% discount when doing so. Payments can be made over the phone or by fax, in addition to online purchases.
Standard shipping takes up to 3 weeks and will cost you $12. Faster shipping is available for $20, which will allow you to receive your medicine in 12 business days. For some select countries, the shipping charges can be as much as $69.95, in these cases, they use DHL Express delivery.
The site features a page containing OffshoreCheapMeds.com reviews. These sort of pages exist to get you to have more trust in a business you may never have heard of before. All of the testimonials found here give a five-star rating to Offshore Cheap Meds.
Our initial look at the testimonials made us believe they were genuine, with frequent mentions of the business name and members of staff. However, a couple of searches later and it is clear that these are fake customer reviews. A search using part of a customer review reveals that these testimonials have been taken from other sites and changed only slightly.
The first results you find are from Offshore Cheap Meds, but there are a hundred more results after that from other sites, many of which are older than the testimonials found here. They may have gone to the trouble of changing parts of the comments, but it is certain that these are fake.
OffshoreCheapMeds.com are certainly doing some things right. They have accreditation with Pharmacy Checker and they do use a real-world pharmacy to dispense drugs. They do give some address details and the name of the owner of the company is fairly easy to find. This business is operated as an offshore entity and this may concern some. Though, this seems like it has been done for tax reasons rather than as a means to commit fraud.
They are using fake reviews on the site and are considered a rogue business by LegitScript. We, therefore, have to mark them down, 3-stars out of a maximum of 5.
