Domain Name Information
Domain name records exist for all the website addresses on the Internet. They reveal details of the owners, though these can be hidden, and other registration information such as when the address was registered.
This site name was only registered less than two years ago, such a short registration can sometimes signify a scam pharmacy. The name and address of the owner aren’t hidden, though, and this is a good sign of a legit business.
Business Contact Information
The business name and address are normally easy to find on legit pharmacy stores. When looking for these details they seem to be missing from the site. It is also difficult to find a phone number for customer service, though it is hidden in the help pages. They do give plenty of details about their social media presence so they may be expecting you to contact them via those channels.
We have been able to find the business name and address on other sites. The business is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2017.
Regulatory Approval
Regulation is important for online pharmacies to have so that you know you are going to be safe taking medication dispensed by the pharmacy. As this is a US-based online pharmacy you would expect them to be registered with NABP and be part of their Verified Pharmacy Program. They aren’t using the VPP seal and are not registered with this organization.
They do show seals from the Better Business Bureau and LegitScript. The company has a profile on the BBB site and have a business rating of ‘B’. This accreditation would suggest that this business has a certain level of trust, though the rating given isn’t brilliant and this is down to a number of complaints received.
The LegitScript rating is much better, with them classifying the store as ‘Certified’.
Service Offered
For Hims offers products for men, including hair loss treatments, men’s health products, acne treatments, cold sore medication and vitamins. These products are sold as a subscription service and are dispatched once an online medical consultation has been completed. There is a $5 fee for the consultation and they also charge a monthly membership fee along with your drug subscription.
They don’t say where the drugs are dispensed from or any mention of a pharmacy. The online consultation will provide you with a prescription, though it seems they have been having some problems with this service.
Payment and Shipping
Payment for pills or subscriptions from this store can be made by credit card. The site is secured with a valid site certificate, so you should be able to input your card details in safety.
Products are sent using either UPS or first class mail and shipping is free in the US.
ForHims.com Reviews
Positive customer reviews can, unsurprisingly, have a positive effect on the sales of an online pharmacy. Naturally, you are going to be more inclined to want to do business with a site which has good customer feedback, this has led to some scam online pharmacies to create fake customer reviews on their sites.
We have been able to find ForHims.com reviews on both the site itself and also a section on the Better Business Bureau. There seems to be quite a difference between the two sets of testimonials, however. On the drugstore’s own testimonial page the feedback is almost entirely positive, but on BBB it is far more mixed.
With only a 2-star rating on BBB, there are many unhappy customers. The main gripe patients have are long waits for customer service and doctors, as well as difficulty in canceling subscriptions.
The difference between the pages of testimonials could be down to some manipulation from the site, or perhaps, BBB is just more likely to attract people with complaints. Whatever the truth is, it seems apparent that this site has been going through some customer service problems earlier on this year.
Conclusion
This is an unusual online pharmacy with its subscription model. They have some accreditation, doctors overseeing your order and are based in the US. However, there are some problems with this site. Some of their customer feedback is very bad and there are many complaints on the Better Business site, so we award them 3-stars out of a maximum of five.
